Somewhere on the edges of this sci-fi vision is a compelling narrative, but The Peripheral's single-minded focus on its lofty ideas comes at the expense of character or coherence. (Rotten Tomatoes)

Fortunately, although The Peripheral is not just an adaptation of a William Gibson novel but one undertaken by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, creators of the mind-breaking Westworld, it starts off gently and allows those of us who are willing but not hugely able to fight the chance of understanding the whole view of the background.

Overall, the whole show is starting too high, and the later plot can't catch up with it, but I have to say the line of actors and some concept in the show is able to stand for scrutiny. The show feels like an encyclopedia trying to throw us a lot of scientific knowledge and a lot of ethical questions. A better balance between the plot and all the shown details of knowledge will make the TV show go to another level.
